Leadership Positions with the Fund

Our year-round leadership positions are available to college graduates and working professionals:

Canvass Director and Assistant Canvass Director

Run a campaign office. Hire, train, supervise, and work alongside a staff of 10 to 40 people conducting door-to-door and street membership and fundraising drives. Also, run petition and letter-writing drives, organize coalitions, hold news conferences, and lobby decision-makers. Generally raise hell. Canvass Directors and Assistant Directors can earn a salary of $24,000 - $28,500, depending on the position.

Telephone Outreach Project Director

Through telephone outreach, progressive organizations are able to educate and mobilize thousands of citizen supporters. Directors of the Fund's Telephone Outreach Projects recruit and manage a staff of 20 to 30 articulate, committed people in order to raise funds and activate citizens over the phone. Telephone Outreach Project Directors can earn $24,000 - $28,500, depending on the position.

Campaign Positions with the Fund

Field Manager

Field Managers work closely with the Canvass Directors and Assistant Canvass Directors to recruit, motivate and train canvassers to meet their canvass office’s campaign and organization-building goals. Field Managers can earn $11-$14/hour on average, varying by location.

Citizen Outreach – Year Round

We offer a variety of year-round campaign positions. After you submit your application, a staff member will contact you to discuss opportunities and locations. Year-round citizen outreach jobs can earn $9-$12/hour on average, depending on the position.

Telephone Outreach Caller

Our Telephone Outreach Callers provide campaign and fundraising support for some of the nation’s leading progressive non-profit groups. You can choose one of three locations when you apply. Telephone Outreach Callers can earn $9-$15/hour, depending on the position.

Jobs for College Graduates

If have a college degree or will be graduating in the near future, you can apply for year-round career positions with the Fund or through Work for Progress, the recruitment service that assists the Fund with staffing.  If positions with the Fund are not available, Work for Progress will consider your application for other advocacy and organizing positions with one of their other clients. Salaries vary, depending on the positions.

Fighting global warming with Environment America

Environment America (www.environmentamerica.org) is a federation of state-based, citizen-funded environmental advocacy organizations with staff in 23 states and 30 years of success tackling environmental problems.
