Stephen graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Studies.  After graduation, Stephen moved to New Zealand and started an environmental consulting business working with nonprofit youth hostels to implement sustainable practices.  In the summer of 2011, Stephen moved back to Santa Cruz and started working as a staff person in the Fund’s Santa Cruz office.  Stephen and the rest of the Santa Cruz office worked on the Fund and Environment California’s campaign to curb ocean pollution by banning plastic grocery bags in communities across California.  By the end of the summer, we were able to pass a ban in Santa Cruz, and Stephen interviewed for a directing position.  He is currently running our office in San Francisco.
