Katrina graduated from UC Davis in 2007 with a degree in English.  She got her start with the Fund in 2008 with the Community Voter's Project, registering voters in Virginia.  Since then, she has directed canvass offices in Albuquerque and Seattle, working to pass strong global warming legislation, keep toxic waste out of our waters and stop mountain-top removal mining.  Last summer, she directed an office that worked on HRC’s campaign to pass the Matthew Shephard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which expanded the federal hate crime law to include protections for the LGBT community.  It was signed into law by President Obama in October, 2009.  She currently oversees one of the offices in Seattle.
